PeopleSoft Roles Confusion by Mindy Tueller, OIT and Jennifer Loudiana, ACS Two major computing systems on campus: Campus Information System based on the PeopleSoft database maintained through Administrative Computing Services (ACS), and services supported by the Office of Information Technology (OIT). To authenticate to any of these, users login with their uNID and a password. For most campus users, the password is the same for the CIS and all OIT services as it is synchronized from the CIS to their OIT account. However, campus users who have access to change certain kinds of PeopleSoft data via an extra Tab and an Enterprise Menu in the CIS must maintain two separate secure passwords for security reasons. We have several projects in process to make it far easier for PS Roles users to reset either password via the CIS self-service application or the uNID Account Tools for their OIT password. In the meantime, the easiest way for users to reset passwords and get to the services they need is to call: • Campus Help Desk: 581-4000 option 1 • Health Sciences users can also call the ITS Computer Help Desk at 7-6000 to have their CIS password reset. • If the issue is with their CIS (PeopleSoft) password, the CHD will pass them through to the ACS Help Desk. • Remember: tell your users that they should identify the service they are trying to access when speaking with the Campus Help Desk.
