TACC Open Source Management System by Dave Adams, TACC • TACC supports campus online learning, WebCT, UOnline, and Instructional Technology. • TACC prepares and streams large amounts of course-related streaming video. • Over the past 5 years, TACC has developed a home-grown, open source media management and delivery application which currently holds over 3,000 media files in 17 formats (October, 2005). • This application, tentatively called Clip Ninja, is built on open technologies and is easily extensible and very flexible. • TACC services are available to the entire campus community. TACC's media expertise in streaming video includes media processing, encoding, hosting and delivery as well as consultation for departments and individuals. • TACC services are free of charge for all curriculum related needs.
