Description |
PML is a rare diagnosis associated with rituximab. Additionally, a false negative JC Virus in the CSF can occur, though only individual case reports are published. Ultimately, a negative JC virus PCR result should not exclude PML. Balint Syndrome is common in the setting of bilateral or unilateral parieto-occipital lesions. PML should be on the differential diagnosis of animmunosuppressed patient presenting with cognitive decline and signs of Balint's Syndrome. This case describes an exceptionally rare diagnosis and symptom profile secondary to rituximab use. |
