Description Critical flicker-fusion (CFF) threshold is the frequency at which a flickering light is indistinguishable from a steady, non-flickering light. CFF is a well-established test to show optic neuropathy due to demyelination and other causes. The purpose of this study was to compare CFF threshold results between patients with demyelinating disease and ischemic causes of optic neuropathy. We hypothesize that demyelinating disease would have a more profound and more consistent effect on CFF compared to ischemic disease.
