Subject Eyelid; Cross-Cover Test; Phoria; Ocular Movement
Description The cross cover test is a useful tool for detecting phorias. It is common practice to lift the lid while examining for vertical phorias as on downgaze as the lid often prevents an adequate view of ocular movements. We evaluated the effect of manual lid elevation on muscle balance during the cross cover test.
