Description Various data exist with respect to the tolerance of the Anterior Visual Pathway (AVP) for single fraction radiosurgery. Conventional wisdom has historically been that tumors 2mm or closer to a part of the AVP can not be successfully treated with single fraction radiosurgery due to the tolerance of the optic nerve(s). This work adds to recent literature that disproves early assumptions published, that 8Gy is the maximum tolerated dose to the AVP from radiosurgery, and contradicts the dogma of not treating select tumors that are very close to a portion of the AVP with radiosurgery.
