Description |
Previous anatomic dissections of the orbital vasculature failed to demonstrate direct anastomoses between the intraneural central retinal artel}' (CRA) aod the short posterior ciliary arteries (SPCA). The only collateral circulation to the CRA was felt to be from the ophthalmic arteJY (OA), as well as between the intravaginal and intraneural portions of the CRA itself We present four cases in which orbital color Doppler imaging (CDI) has demonstrated anastomotic COIIJlections between an SPCA and the CRA. |
