Creator |
Kardon, Randy H; Lee, Andrew G |
Subject |
Horner Syndrome, Apraclonidine, Ptosis, Oculosympathetic palsy, pupil |
Description |
Alternative methods for diagnosing oculosympathetic palsy are needed besides cocaine testing and pupillography due to false positive and negative results that can occur. Apraclonidine offers a new pharmacologic method based on its alpha-2 inhibitory effects in normal eyes and weak alpha-1 adrenergic/excitatory effects in Horner's eyes. |
