Description |
History: A 16 year old girl presented with a mild right proptosis and some discomfort of the right eye on adduction. The visual acuity and the visual field are intact. After operation, no complications and the slight proptosis was eliminated. The patient had no recurrence. Anatomy: Ethmoid sinus; Ethmoid bone. Disease Diagnosis: Osteoma. Neuroimaging: A dense mass in the right retrobulbar area. The same mass with a connection to the right ethmoid sinus that appeared as a bridge from the bulk of the osteoma to the bones of the ethmoid sinus. Ocular Movements: Some discomfort of the right eye on medial rotation. Pathology: The abnormal bone comprising the osteoma with the purple inner connective tissue. Presenting Symptom: A mild right proptosis and some discomfort of the right eye on medial rotation. Treatment: Surgical removal of the osteoma. |
