Description |
Punch biopsy is excellent for sampling a skin disease that has multiple essentially identical lesions, or sampling a lesion within the skin. It is designed for full thickness skin biopsy, and is not an effective tool for biopsying the fat. When using it, it should be held as shown, should be spun very rapidly, and very light to moderate pressure is all that is necessary to penetrate the skin. I currently do not use the reusable punches, and use only the disposable. Of all the brands I have tried, Miltex is the best in my experience. |
