This photograph is a copy of the original and is in very good condition. Duddy served as President of Westminster College from 1956 to 1963, during which the Pontz Memorial Home, Hogle Hall and Carleson Hall were all constructed, he served as the president of the Intermountain Colleges Association, and co-authored two books: International Relations and Geography and National Power. Duddy was born on September 26, 1917 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He received his B.A. from DePaul University, his M.A. from Harvard University, his Ph.D. from Harvard University, his LL.D. from DePauw University, and an honorary L.H.D. from Westminster College after his resignation. Before serving as President of Westminster College, Duddy was an instructor and professor at Northeast University, DePauw University, Stevens College, and the U.S. Naval Academy. After his resignation, Duddy went on to become the President of Marietta College and the executive director of the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges. He also served as a Presbyterian Elder. |
