This photograph is a copy of the original and is in very good condition. Shaw served as the President of Westminster College from 1968 to 1976, during which the Amphitheatre, the Student Union Building, and the Student Union Plaza were are constructed. Shaw was born on November 14, 1906, in Tremonton, Utah. He received a Ph.B. from Yale University, a J.D. from the University of Utah, and an L.L.D. from Westminster College. Before serving as president of Westminster College, Shaw served as a major in the United State's Air Force, a member of the Utah State Bar Association, and President of the National Mortgage Company; he also voluntarily served as president of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors, of the Utah State Reality Association, and of the Utah Association of Sales Executives, as well as chairman of the Board of Trustees of Westminster College. Mr. Shaw was affiliated with the United Methodist Church. |
