The Western Federation of Watercolor Societies is a collective partnership amongst several Watercolor Societies in the Western United States. Every year this federation sponsors an annual juried exhibition of collage and water-based media. The thirty-fifth annual exhibition was hosted by the Utah Watercolor Society at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center. Carla O'Connor juried the show and selected 100 paintings out 1110 entries.Theme was One Hundred Voices-One Hundred Visions.The Best of Show Award winner was Fighting by Ananta Mandal, a member of the San Diego Watercolor Society. The David Gale Memorial Award winner was Magma by Stan Kurth, a member of Arizona Watercolor Society. Maura K. Naughton was the President of Utah Watercolor Society 2009-1010. |
