Description Address: 740 South 300 West, Salt Lake City. The old LDS 5th Ward building, constructed in 1910 and vacated in 1975, served various functions through 2019, but stood empty in early 2024. On Sunday, March 31, the historic building underwent an unauthorized demolition, which was halted by Salt Lake City officials. Demolition was primarily of additions to the original structure, so that the exterior looks similar to its original appearance. There is hope that renovation and repurposing will still occur.
