Description |
Address: 622 North 600 East, American Fork, UT. In 1974, American Fork was named a mission of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in Provo. Priests from the Provo church had been offering mass at the American Legion Hall in American Fork since 1967. A parcel of land was purchased in 1972, and a multipurpose center was constructed; it was dedicated on September 28, 1974 as the Saint Peter's Mission. This building was expanded and rededicated as St. Peter's Church on Oct. 28, 1984. The mission was elevated to Parish status in 2000.
