Description |
Correspondence subsequent to the 19th annual conference of the World Affairs Council of Northern California, held at Asilomar, California, May 1965, with the theme, "Production vs. Reproduction." Letters include copies sent to Marriner S. Eccles of correspondence between William H. Draper, Jr., and other leaders in organizing the conference, which addressed the problem of overpopulation. Dr. Edward Teller's arguments minimizing the problem of food supply caused considerable controversy and undercut the call for birth control. Mr. Eccles led a panel discussion on "The Population Problem in the United States and California." Includes a copy of the printed program for the conference. |
