Scan of letters to and from Federal Reserve Chairman Marriner S. Eccles in connection with his giving a speech at the annual Conference of Mayors held at Washington, D.C., on January 13, 1942. Some of the letters were requests for copies of the speech or thanks for receiving copies. Other letters were more substantial, responding to the content of the speech, and replies by Eccles or his staff that address their comments and concerns. Includes a copy of an editorial column by Lee Casey that appeared in the Denver newspaper, the Rocky Mountain News, which generated considerable correspondence. Also a series of letters from and to Mr. George A. Kuhns, President of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce in January of 1942. One of these letters, by Eccles, had a mistakenly typed date of December 23, 1942.
