The expedition started in Green River, Utah, on June 20, 1938 and ended at Lake Mead, Arizona on August 1, 1938. They stopped at Phantom Ranch and walked up to the South Rim, where Norm Nevills invited Emory Kolb to continue the journey with them. His grandson accompanied the party back to the river on July 21 |
