Hopkins on a horse, at the top of a Jurassic-age rock formation in southern Utah, seen during an exploring expedition in Kane County south of Bryce Canyon that included William H. Hopkins in the Spring of 1921. This photo was used in an article by Hopkins that appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune on May 8, 1921.. Petrified wood is found in this area, possibly near Escalante, Garfield County.
