Transcript (typescript, 89 pages) of two interviews with Kiyotoshi Iwamoto, a Japanese-American living in Utah in 1984. Iwamoto, the son of a Buddhist minister, was born in Hawaii. He talks about Asian immigration to Hawaii, going to school in Japan, the political situation in Israel, the rise of militarism in Japan in the 1930s, and working as a migrant farm laborer and "houseboy" in pre-World War II California. He also describes cultural conflict between the Issei (Japanese-born), the Nisei (American-born), and the Kibei (American-born, educated in Japan).
