Smart Choices: Understanding the Cost of Development |
Subject |
Land use; Regional planning |
Description |
This report summarizes an analysis of the cost of development in the Kansas City Region. This element of the program is a comparison of the costs of land development for both residential and nonresidential uses under two development concepts: conventional and alternative. The specific tasks of this assignment were: 1) to develop a conventional and alternative plan for several case studies and to explore the cost implications of each; and 2) to develop a model that can be used to test development concepts in a variety of project settings in terms of size and location to provide a meaningful comparison of the cost of a conventional versus alternative development scheme. |
