Andrea Chavez recorded a personal best time in the 1,500-meter race at the Stanford Invitational to lead Utah on the first day of a busy weekend of competition. Chavez led the way for the Utes in the 1,500, recording a new personal best time of 4:25.01 to capture third in section four. Sarah Feeny competed in section 1, finishing 11th with a time of 4:23.28. Hannah McInturff and Nikki Rietz also represented Utah in the event. McInturff captured eighth in sections five (4:32.62) and Rietz placed tenth in section seven (4:33.00). True freshman Chrissy Glasmann competed in the javelin for Utah. Glasmann captured tenth with a throw measuring 133 feet, 11 inches. Capping off the weekend for the Utes was senior Andrea Chavez in the 800. Chavez competed in the second section, where she clocked a time of 2:07.92 to place tenth in that section and 22nd overall. Sophomore Sarah Feeny represented Utah in section five, capturing third in the section and 35th overall with a time of 2:10.06. True freshman Caitie Faust was the last Ute to compete on Saturday, finishing seventh in section seven and 53rd overall in 2:15.49. |
