Description |
A block of cheese with toothpicks densely packed in a curved formation around it. "Found Objects have a certain feeling of invitation to me, whether human made or "nature." I work to understand relationships through these objects. I'm working to explore the concept of the self in relation to population. Working with repeated forms and the way they interact with each other I hope to find a kind of balance and rhythm while allowing for chance and the unknown. The art is generally made up of objects that are put together with a system of rules and laws, whether written or unspoken, that allow for consequences of life. Some rules serve to help the ideal where as some serve to punish the outlier. The rules are made up and improvised as the project goes on. The consequence of following the rules is the art" (From the Artist). This work was displayed as part of the 2024 MFA Interim show "borderlines and echoes". |
