Airman First Clas Laird D. Merkley, son of Mr. anf Mrs. Nelson D. Merkley, who is stationed at Naha Air Force Base, Okinawa, received a severe injury when an aircraft hydrolic steering component ruptured under high pressure while he moved his hand along the lien while testing. He is in Camp Coole Army Hospital where he has spent the past month undergoing a series of surgery and skin grafting to his right hand. |
