Description On December 14, 1962, George D. Clyde, Governor of the State of Utah, spoke to nearly 300 people gathered in the remote north eastern corner of the state for the dedication of the Cart Creek Bridge. Featuring a number of "firsts," the unusual bridge was designed by D. L. Sargent, chief structural engineer of the Utah State Department of Highways. A. E. Wotring served as American Bridge construction superintendent. Royal Henderson leans against the rail of the Cart Creek Bridge opening.
