Description |
Boys and girls show livestock at the fair. The first annual county Boys and Girls Club Fair ever held in the State of Utah was successfully held in Vernal. This replaced the county fair which was not held this year. Also known as "The Calf Club" Front, left to right: Mark Stringham, Lawrence Caldwell, Lela Caldwell, Gertrude Akhurst, Shirley Smith, Clarence Akhurst, Ray Smith, Victor Bingham, Afton Bingham, and leader LeRoy Carroll holding the bull calf they were given by the bank. Back row: E. Peterson, County Agent; and Jesse Cheeney, head cashier of the Uintah State Bank. Club members not shown: Howard Collett and Herman Bingham. |
