A postcard printed by the Old West Collectors Series, published by Kustom Quality--El Paso, Texas. During the mid-eigthteenth century, the Shoshone under the leadership of Washakie were friends to "white" men crossing their territory. Washakie actuall ordered his tribe to aid and protect white travellers through Wyoming's Wind River county. He was awarded gifts and medals from Presidents and his tribe given a protected reservation for their friendship. |
