Description Rector Mine was located on the hill west of the town of Rector and it was the main producer of ore from 1923 to 1938. Fuller Remington and Milo Hadlock opened the Rector Mine on the Rector Claim, Northwest of the country Boy. A new mining community was built by the American Asphalt Association in teh canyon east of the mine, and a new loading siding was constructed by the Uintah at Mile 55.7 which also was named Rector. Bags were filled in the mines and hoisted out at any number of location along the vein. They were loaded aboard trucks and taken down the hill to the south of the town of Rector, and from there on down the canyon to the Rector siding on the Uintah Railway's mainline. The camp had 24 different buildings. (Uintah Railway Pictorial--Rodger Polley page 339-40)
