Bridge--White River Station Bridge--Ignatio Bridge; Utah--Uintah County--Ignation, Utah |
Description |
This iron bridge crossed the White River at Ignatio, Utah. It was built on top of four concrete pilings and was made of three spans. The main span, in the center, was made of Iron girders, with the two end sections made of wood beams. The center span was placed above the hundred-year flood level, keeping it out of the way of spring floods. An earthen ramp was build up to meet the level of the bridge on the north end. Spring floods were a problem every year. The town of Ignatio is in the background. |
