The Amos Merkley Home is located on the southwest corner of 1500 West and 500 North in Vernal, Utah. It is part of the many Merkley acres of property in that area. Nelson Merkley Jr. was located across the street on the other side of the Kid's Canal. Asher, Nelson's son built a home in the middle of that block (266 North 1500 West). Warren Merkley, Amos' brother built his home to the south of Amos about a quarter or a mile. All of these Merkley people are decendants of Nelson and Sarah Jane Sanders Merkley. The home was built in 1895. |
