Block 1 - Looking south fron station 44+50 at sloughed area on the down stream end of the shield at station 44+25. This photo shows how the hole sloughed from 4' to 6' wide. Water in the trench is standing on gravel envelope which has a higher percentage of sand that as been recently used. This mixture was soon corrected with good permeability developing in the gravel envelope. |
