UIBTAB IBBIGASIOB SUEYBJJS:- Probably the earliest surveys cf tha Uintah Boservation were made in compliance with the Act of June 1838, $s a Geological Survey party, under 0. C. Babe, conducted a topographical survey of the Beaervation, and aaade records of the discharge of the several 3traaaa during 1399 an d 1900. A survey pajrty consisting of Br. 'tf. B. Bill, Supt.. of IrrigatLcn, a ad seven xmn. from tha Crow and Cheyenne Beaer-mtion in iiontana, arrived on the project in. April 1305, and established headquarters at Yihitorccka. This party assisted in the allotment of the Beservatlon, and aasemhlad data, conducted surveys and prepared tha neoeasary maps and plana to secure for the Indiana the water-right a in tha several streams.
