Title |
Old Circus Poster, possibly from the 30s or 40s |
Subject |
Murray City events; entertainment; circus; entertainers; advertising |
Description |
This old circus poster was discovered on the side of the Hoffman building when the Grecian restaurant that was beside it was demolished. The circus was big entertainment at the time. Promoters used these posters to get people into the shows. Notice the horses and their riders at the far right of the poster. Horses and trick riders were a large attraction in any circus. A big circus parade would announce the coming of a circus show. All the horses paraded through village streets to advetise the animals and performers on the bill. |
