This HURA project was begun in June 1976 in order to provide medical care in two medically underserved areas in the State of Utah. This project posed two problems to be overcome: (1) how to facilitate adequate daily communication between a mid-level practitioner and his back-up physician in order to ensure that the practitioner is providing high-quality medical care; and (2) how to provide sufficient financial and billing capabilities without a trained administrator in the remote sites. |
