Venture capital for entrepreneurs and small businesses

The objective of this thesis is to provide insight and information regarding how entrepreneurs can raise capital for their start-up businesses by way of venture capital as well as a brief overview of the risks and opportunities available to a venture capitalist. Although venture capital can be used by companies in all stages of development, this paper will focus mainly on small, start-up companies in the first stages of formation and operation. The information herein is intended to provide the entrepreneur with an overview of venture capital and the processes and requirements for obtaining venture capital funding.
