Acute hemorrhagic leukoencephalitis, also called Weston Hurst disease in honor of the investigator who first described the condition, is a syndrome that may occur after an upper respiratory tract infection such as that which occurs from Mycoplasma pneumoniae. It also may occur after viral exanthems, vaccinations to prevent both bacterial and viral infections, and exposure to a variety of drugs. |
