Description Tumors in the suprasellar region produce specific syndromes from their effects on the intracranial optic nerves, the optic chiasm, the optic tracts, and the hypothalamus. The most common tumors in this region are pituitary adenomas, meningiomas, craniopharyngiomas, and gliomas. Other lesions include germ cell tumors, particularly germinomas, hemangiomas, and metastatic tumors.
