Description Venous malformations or developmental venous anomalies are congenital vascular malformations composed exclusively of anomalous veins separated by normal neural parenchyma that may arise from occlusion or maldevelopment of the normal venous drainage of the intracranial cavity. As a result of the increasing sensitivity of neuroimaging (e.g., MRI), the number of incidental cases has increased dramatically.
