Description |
There is no treatment for VE. As noted above, the rapid form of the disease inevitably ends in death within several months of onset, whereas the slowly progressive form causes death 26 years after onset. The chronic form of the disease is not necessarily fatal. Patients with this form of the disease may have a normal life span, although they may be moderately to severely debilitated. |
