Description |
Optic disc drusen (ODD) are acellular deposits in the optic nerve head prevalent in 2% of the general population. The prevalence is increased in patients with the rare inherited disease retinitis pigmentosa (RP) but in previous studies great variation (3.1-6.8%) have been seen using different ODD diagnostic methods. Enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT) of the optic nerve head is currently considered as the most precise ODD diagnostic modality. The purpose of this study was to systematically examine the prevalence of ODD in patients with RP using EDI-OCT. |
