Description Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) constitutes is an uncommon cause of headache which can lead to severe visual impairment, and its exact pathogenesis remains unknown. Additionally, it further remains to be settled whether the co-occurrence of IIH and multiple sclerosis (MS) reflects a causal or coincidental relationship. In previous reports describing the co-occurrence of signs and/or symptoms of IIH and MS in individual patients, these were either separate in time, or their temporal relationship could not be discerned. We describe a patient with simultaneous neuro-ophthalmic installation and presentation of IIH and MS and further discuss potential underlying mechanisms.
