Description |
Cavernous angioma (cavernous hemangioma, cavernous malformation, cavernoma) is a rare vascular formation of the central nervous system with a reported incidence of 0.4%-0.9% of the general population. Because approximately 25% of such lesions occur in the brainstem, diplopia is a frequent clinical complaint. With hemorrhage, patient mortality has been reported up to20%. |
