optic neuritis; optical coherence tomography; multifocal electroretinogram |
Description |
Optic neuritis is an inflammatory demyelinating disorder of the optic nerve, a common cause of vision loss among patients withmultiple sclerosis. Vision loss, the presence of a relative afferent pupil defect, visual field defects, dyschromatopsia and a normal fundus examination are common presenting clinical manifestations. Retinal disorders may mimic optic neuritis, and the distinction between optic neuritis and some retinopathies may be difficult on clinical grounds alone. |
