Description |
Pseudotumor cerebri is a syndrome of increased intracranial pressure, normal neuroimaging and normal cerebrospinal fluid composition. It may be caused by exogenous agents and cerebral venous sinus thrombosis but in most cases it is idiopathic. Ocular motility disturbances are typically limited to unilateral or bilateral sixth nerve palsy, considered to be a false localizing sign of increased intracranial pressure. Third nerve palsies, fourth nerve palsies and skew deviations are rare. |
