Neuro-ophthamol. 5:283, 1985 Announcements Fight For Sight Scientific Awards Program The Fight For Sight Scientific Awards Program for 1986-87 has been announced by Mildred Weisenfeld, the founder and executive director of Fight For Sight, Inc. The awards program and peer review of applications is administered by the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Applications are available for the following programs in ophthalmic and vision research: 1) grantsin- aid for research projects, stressing pilot and feasibility projects, with awards of $1,000 to $10,000; 2) postdoctoral fellowships, with maximum awards of $12,000; 3) student (summer) fellowships, with maximum awards of $400 per month. The deadline for receipt of completed applications will be March 1, 1986. Starting dates are July 1 or September 1, 1986 and June 1, 1986 for student fellowships. International Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (INOS) The sixth INOS congress will be held in Hakone, Kanagawa, Japan, June 9-14, 1986, at the Hakone Prince Hotel in Kanagawa. It will be hosted by Professor Satoshi Ishikawa of Kitasato University. About 85 papers (oral sessions) and 60 papers (poster sessions) will be given. One or two symposiums are under consideration. Satellite meetings: (I) 15th Pupil Colloquium, June 16-19 at Hamamatsu, Shizuoka; (II) International workshop on proprioception of the ocular muscles; June 1416, at Hakone and Matsuyama, Ehime. Registration forms will be provided with the final circular. Fees for active members are 50,000 yen (foreign members), 60,000 yen Oapanese members). The fee for accompanying members is 15,000 yen. This fee includes three lunches, cocktails, coffee and partial fee for the banquet.
