Show Books Received Handbook of Neuroimaging for the Ophthalmologist M. Tariq Bhatti, Ilona Schmalfuss. 1st edition. London, UK: JP Medical Ltd; 2014. 403 pages. $64.09 ISBN: 978-1907816130 This book is intended for neuro-ophthalmologists, ophthalmologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, residents, and fellows. This beautifully written and illustrated text opens with basic principles of computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and vascular imaging. Subsequent chapters include visual pathway disorders, leukocoria and intraocular disorders, papilledema, cranial neuropathies, nystagmus, pupillary, facial nerve, and orbital disorders, and imaging protocols. The book also provides the relevant Books Received: J Neuro-Ophthalmol 2016; 36: e1 neuroanatomy, signs and symptoms, pathophysiology, diagnostic studies, and management strategies. An added bonus is a case vignette in each chapter. Each easy-to-read chapter is well organized and clearly written. Tables are particularly comprehensive. For example, Table 2.1 outlines the differential diagnosis of vision loss by lesion location and is 6 pages long. The neuroimaging figures are stunning with extensive figure legends, and anatomic illustrations are in color and beautifully rendered. Perhaps, the biggest plus of the book is the years of expertise of Drs Bhatti and Schmalfuss, as a neuro-ophthalmologist and neuroradiologist, respectively. Overall, this book serves as an authoritative text, color atlas, and reference resource and succeeds on all levels. Michael S.
