Description |
This is a case of large non-functioning pituitary adenoma with mass effect on the optic chiasm inducing loss of optic nerve fibers and subsequent visual field. Figure 1: Fundus photographs demonstrating bilateral temporal optic nerve head pallor Figure 2: Humphrey visual fields demonstrating a bitemporal hemianopia Figure 3: Ocular coherence tomograph of the right peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer demonstrating temporal loss Figure 4 : Ocular coherence tomograph of the left peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer demonstrating greater temporal loss than right eye Figure 5 : Axial T2 FLAIR magentic resonance image showing suprasellar mass displacing the chiasm Figure 6: Coronal T1 post-contrast magnetic resonance image demonstrating encasement of carotids (red) and superior displacement and mass effect on chiasm (green) |
