Description |
This essay, "Rural Utah at a Crossroads," explores the complex and evolving nature of rural life in Utah, emphasizing that change has been a constant. It challenges idealized notions of rural identity, particularly the Jeffersonian agrarian ideal, by contrasting them with the realities of Utah's arid environment and the diverse economic activities beyond farming, such as mining and other extractive industries. |
