Description |
Groups from around the state came to Scofield to help in the relief efforts after the disaster. Among those who volunteered to assist was a group from Provo, Utah, who brought their tools to help dig the grave. The May 1, 1900 explosion in the Winter Quarters No. 4 mine greatly affected the town of Scofield, killing many of the mine employees. |
