Description On January 15, 1890 the Stanton crew found the body of Peter M. Hansbrough on the beach at Harding Rapid, mile 43.7. The next day he was buried at the base of a limestone cliff which Stanton called a shaft of pure marble, 70 ft. high. The men knew that Hansbrough had cut the Brown inscription the previous July and had been the next to die. They held back but finally Langdon Gibson chiseled "PMH 1889." Photo by: P.T. Reilly.
